Social Exclusion Risk of Female-headed Households

Abstract
The purpose of this study is in the perspective of social exclusion to analysis the deficiencies of female-headed households. The study used the Korea Welfare Panel Staudy and the dimensions of social exclusion in this research are income, job, health, housing, and social relationship which were derived from literature review. To reflect the dynamic characteristics, life time table analysis and discrete-time analysis are utilized. After analysing life table analysis, The result shows that there are significant differences in income level, job participation, quality of job, subjective health condition, experience of medical examinations, house ownership, social relationship between female and male headed households. And it is identified that the sex of headed households had significant effects on income, job participation,, subjective health, housing owership. These findings suggest that social welfare policy for female-headed households is required to not only economic support but also multi-dimensional approach.
